Triggery Triggers

2 Jan

Today I have been reminded I’m an alcoholic.

I’m really nervous about something and all I want to do to get over it is drink. I haven’t felt like this for ages, but tonight I’d love to have a cool beer to wash away the anxiety in the pit of my stomach. In true addictive style, I reached for chocolate to numb the feelings and that just made things worse.

I don’t have much time to write and reflect as I would like today, but I just wanted to say out loud that I’m having a craving and I’m bloody well going to fight it.

Just 10 days until I’m 1 year sober. Nothing is stopping me getting there.

Happy Friday!

Hang in there, FFF. New years are tricky, as are anniversaries (not that I’ve got a year, but I freaked out at 100 days!). Sometimes just saying it out loud is enough to take the power out a craving feeling. Sending you some positive vibes 🙂 xx

Will be thinking of you on the 12th January 🙂 Power through it lovely – I know you can xx PS How about hitting a meeting if really struggling?

    Chocolate always helps me.
And yoga, a good meal, coffee with cream and a hot bath.
A drink will not numb the anxiety!

    Keep moving forward!

You can do this – you faced far worse days! It’s a great idea to reach out and post. At least you realise what your triggers are and that they will and do pass.
I shall be thinking of you and cheering you on in 12 days time.
You are going to be more than fine xxxx
