My First Chair!

7 May

Eeeeeeeek!

I’ve just been asked to do my first chair at AA, TONIGHT!

For those of you who don’t go, it’s where someone opens a meeting by sharing their experience strength and hope of the programme for 15 mins.

As I’m so newly sober, I was worried I’m not experienced enough to do it. My sponsor said that as I’ve done my step 5 (where you share with them the nature of harms done when drinking) I’m ok to. And it’s a newcomers meeting, my home group, so I have a valuable experience to share as a newcomer myself.

Terrifying. I’ll get through it I’m sure.

Wish me luck!

You have worked so hard to get to this place and have been so thoughtful along the way that your group are privileged and you will be amazing I am quite sure. (Take tissues just in case, could be emotional…. or maybe that’s just me)

Congratulations! You’ll do amazing. One thing my sponsor always stressed to me was to pray beforehand and ask my higher power to speak through me. Works like a charm every time.

You will do a great job. Our group says six months and then we can “host.” Needless to say, we have a gal moving so in August time slot is all mine. 🙂
